Tian Kee & Co. started out as a provision shop in a quiet corner of Dakota Crescent.
54 years later, on 18th June 2014, it was revamped into an Artisan Cafe. The shop owners, a loving husband and wife, kept the retro atmosphere and decorations making it a nostalgic place to relax and chill for brunch.

Saucy Pepper Chicken Pie
(served with prawn crackers)
$7.90

Being a huge fan of puffs and pies, I was satisfied with this home-made pie freshly baked by the
boss. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and juicy on the inside. Thanks to my mom, who made me a chilli manic, I wished the pie was a little spicier. Nonetheless, an awesome snack for tea!

TCS Salted Toffee Caramel
$6.50 per slice

Perfect saltiness, Ideal sweetness to the toffee caramel on a soft cheesecake. A must-try for any
cheesecake lovers. Definitely hands down as my favourite cake among the rest.
Addiction warning!

~

Gula Melaka
$6.50 per slice

A really unique cheesecake flavour that brings back the retro. Having low tolerance for sweet stuff, I found this a little too 'heavy' for me. However, if you like your desserts sweet, then
this is for you!

~

 Iced Snag
$6.50

A unique combination of rose syrup, fresh milk and espresso. Best for hot and sunny Singapore.
Despite my dislike for iced sweetened coffee, I was pleasantly surprised by the union.
Not too sweet and felt like I was drinking a cup of iced latte and playing 'hide and seek' with the rose syrup.

There are 3 ways to consume Tian Kee's Signature drink.
1) Using the straw to slurp the top 2 layers will give you iced latte.
2) Using the straw to slurp the bottom 2 layers will give you bandung.
3) Experiencing Tian Kee's Signature drink by mixing all 3 layers together.

~

 Hot Snag
$5.50

Espresso & Rose syrup with steamed fresh milk.
The hot version of the Iced Snag. Best for a cold and rainy day.

~

 Mr Brown
$6

Double ristretto with fresh milk.
Unlike regular iced lattes which are added with frothed milk, fresh milk is added into a
cup of Mr Brown. What does it mean? When milk is frothed, it gets raised by air introduced
into the mixture and volume increases. Simply put, fresh milk = more value for money. (:

Fun fact: Did you know that Singapore is the birth place of Tiger Beer

Since 1932, Tiger Beer has been using their signature blue livery that many are familiar with. This year, to celebrate Singapore's birthday, Tiger Beer dons patriotic red and white like our nation's flag.

This limited edition red and white livery comes in packs of 10 x 330ml cans and are retailing at a recommended price of $25.60 at all major supermarkets and hypermarkets.

Apart from cocktails like long island iced tea and gin & tonic, I must say
beer (or angmoh liangteh) is my next favourite alcoholic drink of choice.
And I kid you not, Tiger Beer has always been my number 1 beer.

Though I think I had way too much to drink thanks to the overly friendly
and warm staff from Tiong Bahru Bar (used to be Tiong Bahru Bakery).

If I were to live around Tiong Bahru, TBB will definitely be one of my preferred chill out
spots. The staff are friendly, food is yummy and there were plenty of cozy sofas too.

No drinking sessions would be complete without some delectable finger food. Oh gosh, I am still salivating thinking about those luncheon meat strips, mantou with chilli crab sauce, sliders and best of all, luncheon meat CHIPS! yes you heard me, it was my first time knowing that such simple staple could turn into a heavenly nibble.

The crew from Vagabond Ink were also down, tattooing those proud to call themselves Singaporeans.
Take a look at these impressive designs at Vagabond Ink.

All in all, it was a great night out with the boys with many drinks, munchies, games and laughter!
With all appreciation , I would like to thank Tiger Beer for the fantastic night
and William for the invite! Click here to check out his blog (:

Spent the entire morning doing a photo shoot with these beautiful people!
Lets put our hands together to welcome NTU Hall 5's Pageant Contestants!
and not forgetting Tian Kee & Co for loaning the venue to us! #somuchlove

Can you spot the 바보(read: pabo=silly person), who did not look at
the camera lens even after reminding a million times?

Jem is how almost 90% of people address me nowadays. If you’re wondering why this name sounds so familiar…

… like a mall that exists in Jurong East...

You’re right. But let’s set things right, I USED IT FIRST! Way before the building was built, okay.

So what’s my real name? 10 points if you guessed Jeremy. Yup... just about similar to the other 45968 (but don't quote me) “Jeremys” in tiny Singapore. Thus the birth of the alias, JEM.

Alright… Lets start this properly. Hi everyone! Introducing the newest member to this generation’s social media… JEM! I’m a guy about a quarter of a century old, very into food, coffee, photography, fashion, traveling and scuba diving!

People say I look intimidating; maybe due to my height and the lack of smiles. But trust me, I’m really sociable after the (slow warm) phase.

If you think you might be interested in me (or my posts), do stick around and I’ll post as often as I can. (:
